Company History

MedInformatix, Inc. and acentec, inc. have been leading providers of IT solutions and consulting services to the healthcare industry for over 15 years.   Our award winning software solutions are installed in healthcare settings throughout the United States by an extensive implementation and technical support team of high level engineers and IT experts.  Headquartered in Southern California, the two companies work seamlessly to provide the marketplace with considerable resources delivered at a personal level.

In 1997 Health Technology Management Magazine announced MedInformatix the winner of its “What Works” Award and from 1997 through 2001 MedInformatix was chosen as a finalist at the annual “Microsoft Healthcare Industry Solutions Awards” in numerous categories, winning the Award in 1999.   In 2003 the distinguished AC Group Survey ranked MedInformatix’s EMR system one of the top ten in the country.

 

MedInformatix originally grew out of the long-term experience and problem solving abilities of its founders in the medical field.  In 1986 the current CEO and CIO of MedInformatix, unable to find a satisfactory IT solution for the management of large medical practices, made a bold decision to develop their own.  By teaming up with the architect of an advanced computerized billing system, they used their combined knowledge and technology tools to successfully turn around over 50 troubled practices within a few years, with significant growth in revenues and income. 

Their complementary skill sets and common vision led to the establishment of MedInformatix. The company installed its first integrated medical records and practice management solution in 1992 for Kind Care in California, still in operation today and has since grown the client base to thousands of users throughout the country. 

MedInformatix’s comprehensive EMR and Practice Management system has formed a blueprint for enhanced solutions developed by the company in an unprecedented number of specialty fields including Cardiology, Radiology, OG/GYN, Orthopaedics, Urology, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Community Health, Psychiatry, Family Practice and Ophthalmology. The staff at acentec, inc. have been significantly involved in the successful implementation of Medinformatix at over 50 locations nationwide.
